ArtPop Upcycled Couture ‘22

ArtPop Upcycled Fashion Show 2022

  • “Filipiniana”

My concept is Filipiniana, a traditional dress in the Philippines. It shows a puffy butterfly sleeves blouse and a long skirt. I want to celebrate and highlight the identity of Filipino women. Filipiniana is originated in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.

This dress is worn for important events. Traditionally the fabric is made from pineapple fiber

  • Love for fashion....

My love for fashion started at a young age after I watched my grandmother make dresses for one of the well-known designers in the Philippines. When I was 13 years old, I made my first dress inspired by Egyptian style and I wore it during the United Nation Day in school. In my spare time, I enjoy making Avant-Garde dresses from unconventional and recycled/collected materials. My most recent show was at the 2019 Paris Fashion Week in Paris hosted by Oxford Studio sponsored by Opera Carolina. I find inspiration in many things, from stylistic comic book art to the techniques of the past, like the Expressionist, Avant-Garde and Art Deco styles.

  • Dress made from vinyl billboard

Commissioned work for ArtPop Street Gallery. It’s currently displayed at LendingTree Foundation’s office. The artwork from the billboard was created by an amazing artist Caroline Rust Art .
